Mit Der Fall Brooklyn setzt der großartige Erzähler Jonathan Lethem („Motherless Brooklyn“, „Die Festung der Einsamkeit“) seinem Heimatbezirk ein neues literarisches Denkmal. Mit besonderer Finesse erzählt er die wechselvolle Geschichte von einer der angesagtesten Straßen New Yorks, der Dean Street in Brooklyn. Sie ist mehr als nur eine Straße: Sie ist eine Bühne.
