„Eigentlich bin ich Humorist“ – Dietmar Bär, Jeanette Hain, Thomas Mann und Volker Weidermann
Ironische Spitzzüngigkeit und menschenfreundlicher Sarkasmus – das ist es, was Thomas Manns Werke besonders einzigartig macht. Begonnen hat es mit schrägen Lübeckern und ging dann weiter zu Hundehalterdasein und Verein Halbe Lunge im Schweizer Sanatorium, zu altägyptischen Damengesellschaften und dämonischen oder verliebten Schwätzern bis hin zu einem schrumpfenden Heiligen. Angesichts einer Doktorarbeit, die aus alldem nur bierernste Tiefe ziehen wollte, schrieb TM ins Tagebuch: „Eigentlich bin ich Humorist.“
Dietmar Bär, Jeanette Hain und Volker Weidermann werden beweisen: Das stimmt! Da der Nobelpreisträger Thomas Mann 2025 seinen 150. Geburtstag feiert und bei vielen nur hängen geblieben ist, dass er ein verklemmter, vornehmer Gro.bürger gewesen sein soll, der mit endlos langen Sätzen angegeben und seine Kinder mit kaltblütiger Verachtung gequält hat, wird es Zeit für die Wahrheit: Thomas Mann ist auf geniale Art witzig!
