Der Musiker Andreas Dorau ist ein Meister der Exzentrik und des Absurden. Subtil und abgründig kann er von sich und seinen Abenteuern nicht nur im Kunstbetrieb erzählen. Wer Sven Regeners Romane („Herr Lehmann“) kennt, ahnt, warum er in Doraus schillerndes Universum eintauchen und es literarisieren will. In ihrem gemeinsamen Buch gibt es daher einen Hypnosekönig, den Dorau aufsucht, um endlich zu erfahren, was er wirklich tief drinnen über seinen alten Freund Fred vom Jupiter denkt, die Panikattacke, die ihn als Adorno-Stimme in eine Verhaspelkatastrophe hineinrasen lässt, ein Musical namens „König der Möwen“ und eine Frau mit einem Arm ... Wenn es ihn nicht gäbe, müsste man ihn erfinden: einen Helden wie Andreas Dorau, der den Sog des Erfolgs genauso kennt wie die Mühen der Ebene. Die Frau mit dem Arm ist der Roman eines Lebens, das keine Kompromisse kennt – oder wenn doch, dann nur solche, auf die sonst keiner gekommen wäre.
